We are currently looking for an enthusiastic and talented Project Manager, PMO. This role can be home-based in the UK or EU where we have the ability to hire. 

PURPOSE AND MAIN RESPONSIBILITIES

Purpose

The Project Manager, PMO (PM) provides project performance monitoring as PMO owner of assigned CRO Operations client projects/programs/services. Responsible for project analysis against business standards of budget, schedule, quality and client satisfaction, and implementing root cause and remediation action plans. Implements and manages CRO standards for project management and performance

Responsibilities

Monitors client projects/programs/services through the PMO end to end process

  • Continuous evaluation of projects to ensure early identification of significant variance to CRO standards on budget, schedule and quality; ensures appropriate interventions or contingencies are implemented
  • Monitors projects against key quality indicators and reports key project information
  • Management of project metric production and summarized performance results, based on implemented measures across units
  • Performs required project financial reporting and analysis. Critically analyses financials and scope risks for the successful outcome of the project. Implements plans to facilitate prevention and/or mitigation of related issues/risks.
  • Implement action plans or justification documentation for performance deviations.
  • Collaborate with project leaders and functional lead to define, prioritize and address identified project variance to CRO standards on budget, schedule and quality
  • Establishes effective cross-departmental communications, collaboration, and information distribution to enable project performance results and action plans. Maintains diplomatic and collaborative working relationship with others.
  • Maintains project information in PMO systems. Generates informative, factual and concise project status reports and presentations
  • Oversee and guide PMO supporting resources assigned to support client projects/programs 

Manage project financial performance for assigned client projects/programs/services

  • Contract Management: Monitors alignment of contract with financial analysis actions; and adds consistency/improvement measures from prior client budgets/project performance.
  • Budget Management: Guides project team to adhere project assumptions on which the scope of work is based; aligns project leads to time recording structure; tracks budget to assess time is booked correctly and promptly
  • Profit Management: Tracks and implements plan to match project profitability to agreed profit levels per cost model, e.g. tracking of budget and actual margins, root cause analysis of variance, and remediation/justification plan with Operations
  • Scope Management: Identifies potential scope change through financial analysis; liaises with Operations to drive the scope specification creation and optimum downstream revenue recognition and actual margins; liaises with service delivery and contract management functions on revenue (change order) priorities; manages executed scope change into project systems (e.g. financial forecasting, team training etc)
  • Revenue Management: Monitors project is forecast to recognise all available revenue correctly; reviews forecast is met; evaluates risks in revenue forecast; closes out budget with financial departments at end of project services
  • Invoice Management: Manages invoice verification flow and any related revenue recognition tasks.
  • Maintains operational project information in business systems, where PMO responsible
  • Acts as point of contact for Finance for project financial matters 

Implement, improve and manage PMO and CRO standards for optimal project and Operations performance

  • Support and maintenance of new and improving existing PMO standards, practices, processes, and tools
  • Support the globalization and harmonization of CRO project management tools, practices and processes.
  • Optimize CRO project management by participating in efficiency and improvement projects
  • Create associated procedure documents and guidelines.
  • Support central PMO management of CRO practices, examples: support consistent and efficient production and downstream impacts of SOP production, CRO training, shared environments,compliance measures, time and financial project management systems
  • Support CRO integrations, through standardizing project management processes, practices and costs alignments
  •  Input into cost model improvement, through project analysis metrics and process changes
  • Participate in required CRO utilization review and tracking
  • Perform required CRO communications in relation to CRO standards 

Other Project Manager Responsibilities

  • Undertake all tasks assigned to role within SOPs
  • Maintain timesheet records
  • Participate in the performance appraisal program by providing timely and accurate feedback regarding the performance of each respective team member
  • Mentoring of junior staff as required
